Have you guys ever played Monopoly where you lend money to the player just about to go bankrupt the whole time just to keep the game going?
I’d say you need to need to be very young to appreciate Monopoly played this way and I wonder what the heads of state and banks in our world think on this issue?
I can tell you what happens in the Monopoly game; the “rich” players keep on lending to the poor players until an amazing mazzillion is built up in currency. Now, this mazzillion does not really matter because the economy on the board only works with about a trillion at any given time, and the poor players could never pay back the mazzillion anyway.
Each and every time a poor player is about to be booted off the game because he landed on a hotel one of the rich players has to bail him out. Little Johnny starts crying at one point because he owes 500 million and says he is going to quit if he keeps on owing so much money.
He doesn’t think it is funny … The rich players look at each other and realize that if they forgive little Johnny his debt there will be no confidence in the monopoly currency and all the fun will go out of the game.
They decide to give him 100 million and for a moment there is a smile….
How is a poor artist supposed to understand this world, I ask myself?
Safari in Africa
And now over to something completely different; I have just been on a safari in Africa, this is mainly for inspiration and to show real wild animals to my kids.
I wonder where that can take me on an artistic level? Think warm colours, the strong fragrance and brutality of wild animals... read the article here.
I am also planning an exhibition in Islamabad, Pakistan with contacts from St. Petersburg and I look forward to this as I believe our cultures has a lot to gain from talking to each other.
